In this module participants will be introduced to some of the theories behind adult teaching and learning. Participants will also be introduced to four principles of adult learning and how to apply those principles in their courses. This is a self-paced course where you will review 3 sections discussing the theory of adult learning. The course will go over the definitions of pedagogy and andragogy, then discusses how teaching adults is different from children. Then the four principles of adult learning will be discussed in detail. Finally, the course discusses the differences between pedagogy and andragogy and how the four principles apply. This course contains activities to assist in your understanding of the topic.
