In this module participants will explore two models of sequential phases of learning, the Inquiry-Based or the 5eModle. Participants will develop a deeper understanding of these models and how best to use them in a classroom. This is a self-paced course where you will review 13 pages investigating the teaching and learning cycle. The course contains starts by discussing the inquiry-based learning model and the 5e model. The course dives into the inquiry-based learning model, discussing its history, the steps involved, and how the instructors fits into this model. Later in the course, the 5e model is discussed and how it compares with the inquiry-based learning model, and what the 5 Eâ€™s are in the model and in turn what each of these really mean. The course contains videos, articles and activities to assist in your understanding of the topic. The outcomes from this course are that you should understand what the inquiry-based learning model and 5e models are, and how they can be utilized in effectively teaching students.
