In this module participants will be introduced to characteristics and principles of accessibility to meet learners’ needs. The topics covered include: defining accessible as it relates to persons with disabilities, becoming familiar with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) legal regulations for higher education, recognizing important accessibility characteristics, and use of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) for meeting all learners’ needs. This is a self-paced course where you will review 3 sections with 31 pages discussing ADA accommodations to meet learners needs. The course discusses characteristics and principles of accessibility to meet learners’ needs, and different types of learning principles. This course contains activities to assist in your understanding of the topic. The outcome from this course is to understand the ADA accommodations that meet learners needs.
