The course covers the techniques and procedures used in the set-up, operation, and processing of molded parts including: injection mold machine set-up, injection pressures, press temperatures, clamping pressures and secondary machining operations of completed parts. This is a self-paced course goes through 4 pages of instruction and assessments, followed by a set of lectures and slides to cover 10 lessons. Prior to the downloadable course content, the site covers the prerequisites of identifying basic components of an injection mold and differentiating between thermosetting and thermoplastic materials. The course contains videos, articles and activities to assist in your understanding of the topic, along with lecture information and presentation slides that can be used when teaching this topic to others. The outcome from this course is that you should have a starting point from which you can create a course on injection molding. Students that take your course should be able to get further outcomes such as utilizing bench tools and apply knowledge of composite materials.
